Remained Member, Bhartiya Jan Sangh and Janata Party before being associated with the BJP.
Elected to the Legislative Assembly in 1990 as BJP candidate; re-elected as such to the Assembly in 1993 and 1998.
Remained Transport and Tribal Development Minister, from March 1998; dropped from the Council of Ministers on March 1, 2001; re-inducted in the Ministry on April 3, 2001.
Elected to State Assembly again in December 2007; remained Transport Minister from 09-01-2008 to 08-07-2009.Appointed as Industries Minister on 09-07-2009.
Remained Member, Bhartiya Jan Sangh and Janata Party before being associated with the BJP.
