Son of late Vaid Bal Mukand Bindal; born on 12th January, 1955 at Solan; GAMS(Ayurvedacharya) and Certified Scholar of Grace Mission(C.S.G.M.); married to Smt. Madhu Bindal; one son and one daughter; Private Medical Practitioner (Ayurvedic).
Member R.S.S. since childhood; put behind bars for four months under D.I.R for opposing the imposition of emergency, 1976; served the people of Ho Tribe of Jharkhand as Missionary Doctor, 1979-81; served also the poor and the orphans in H.P. as founding General Secretary and later as President of Himgiri Ayurvedic Ashram, 1985-2005; and President, Municipal Committee, Solan, 1996 to 2000. Treasurer, State B.J.P., 1998-2000 and subsequently remained its Spokesperson, 2003-06; Vice-President, 2006-08.
Elected to the State Legislative Assembly in a by-election in 2000; re-elected to the Assembly in 2003. Remained Chairman, H.P. State Environment Protection and Pollution Control Board, 2001-02.
Elected to the Assembly for the third time in December 2007; appointed Health and Family Welfare Minister on 09-01-2008.
