Son of Dr. Narain Lal Nadda; born on December 2, 1960 at Patna (Bihar); B.A.(Hons), LL.B.; educated at St. Xaviers School, Patna, Patna University (Bihar) and H.P. University, Shimla; married to Dr. Mallika Nadda; two sons; Political Worker.

        Represented Bihar State in All India Junior Swimming Championship held at Delhi; winner of various debating competitions in Hindi and English; inspired by J. P. Movement to join Chatra Sangharsh Samiti; remained Secretary, A.B.V.P., Patna University, 1977-79; Joint Secretary, ABVP, H.P. State Unit, 1980-82; Secretary, ABVP, H. P. State, 1982-83; President, H. P. University Students Union, 1983-84; Zonal Secretary, ABVP (H.P. Zone ), 1985-86; National Secretary and Organizing Secretary, ABVP (Delhi Unit), 1986-89; arrested and put behind bars for 45 days for leading a 21 day campaign for ungrading schools; organised Rashtria Sangarsh Morcha against Bofors Scandal, 1987; Election Incharge: Youth wing, B.J.P.during Lok Sabha election, 1989, ii) Kangra Lok Sabha (May 1990); General Secretary, State B.J.P, 1990-91; President, All India Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha, August 1991 to February 1994. Attended as member of Indian delegation to study the Presidential election of Mr. Bill Clinton, USA in the year 1992-93.

        Elected to State Legislative Assembly in 1993; remained Leader of the B.J.P. Legislature Group, 1993-98; re-elected to the Assembly in 1998 and given the responsibility as Cabinet Minister Health and Family Welfare and Parliamentary Affairs.

        Elected to State Assembly for a third term in December, 2007; and inducted in the Council of Ministers as Minister for Forest, Environment and Scientific Technologies and Parliamentary Affairs.Resigned from the Council of Ministers on 12-05-2010 after being elected as General Secretary of the BJP at National Level.

        Presently also working as President, Olympic Association, Himachal Pradesh and Member Trustee Special Olympics Bharat.
