Kangra, 1994-1996, ii) State Youth Congress, 1996-2003; President, Kangra Yuva  Kala Manch, 1997;   Member, Pradesh Congress  Committee 2002; General Secretary, PCC; Spokesman, PCC 2009 onwards and Secretary, AICC 2018 onwards.

Elected to the State Legislative Assembly in 2003; re-elected in 2007 from Baijnath Assembly and in 2012 from Dharamshala Assembly Constituency; Remained Parliamentary Secretary, MPP& Power 18^th April, 2005 to 18^th August, 2005; Member, Public Accounts, Library & Member Amenities and Rural Planning Committees, September, 2005- December, 2007; Urban Development Minister along with portofolios of Housing, Town & Country Planning, 2012-2017.

Elected to the State Legislative Assembly (4^th term) in December, 2022; and nominated as Chairman, Estimates Committee; and Member, Privileges Committee, January, 2023 - 28.02.2024.
