Elected to the State Legislative Assembly in 1998; re-elected in 2007 & December, 2017; Health Minister along with portfolios of Medical Education, Ayurveda and Science and Technology, 27^th December, 2017- February, 2020; and Speaker, Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha 26^th Feburary, 2020 to December, 2022.

Elected to the State Legislative Assembly (4^th term) in December, 2022; and nominated as Member, Public Undertakings, Member Amenities, Business Advisory and e-Governance-cum-General Purposes Committees.
