Shimla; Graduate, educated at Bishop Cotton School, Shimla & Punjab University, Chandigarh; married to Smt. Kusum Janartha; one son; Horticulurist.

Member: i) NSUI, 1982-1986, ii) State Youth Congress, 1986-1994, iii) District Congress Committee, Shimla, 1994-2000,  iv) Executive Council (Finance) HPU; Executive Member, PCC, 2012-2022; Councillor, Municipal Corporation, Shimla (twice) 2002-2007 & 2007-2012; Deputy Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Shimla 2007-2012; Vice Chairman, HPTDC, 2013-2017; and Vice President, HPCC, April, 2022 onwards.

Elected to the State Legislative Assembly in December, 2022; and nominated as Member, Public Administration, General Development & Member Amenities Committees.
